Hair

Had fun doing Crosby's hair. I think the punk look suits him. Yes or no? Poor guy has been a little under the weather last night and today. I wish he could talk so I knew exactly what was wrong. Just isn't acting himself but it's made for lots of snuggling time and I love it. And maybe a tad more sleeping time on his part meaning a tad more sleeping time on my part. Yes!

Lucy

We walked the March of Dimes walk this weekend at Wheeler Farm. Gorgeous day, great cause. We were on Team Lucy Bug, of course. The colors of the team were green and pink. Look how well Lucy represented her team! Codi told Luce's story on this poster she made, which... BIG KUDOS because the word is that Codi did it in one night. Those who have dappled in the business of scrapbooking can attest... that's close to impossible. Crosby slept in his stroller for the walk.

Loving This!

I have to say I am loving the spring. In my opinion one of the best views of the Salt Lake cherry blossom festival would have to be driving west down 13th South, right after you hit 13th East. That big hill that you always threw your arms up in the air while travelling down when you were a kid. Or maybe that was just me! Anyway, Croz and I hit Liberty Park yesterday and I had to stop to partake of the photo op.

Mainstream

Yes, it is true. People are staying home to watch American Idol. Shame on us! I was always happy to say that there's not one TV show I can live without watching, not one. Well that has changed and why do we all have to watch American Idol? Beats me. But can't you just see yourself up onstage? Oh yeah, let the imagination run wild... my thoughts are it is down to Syesha and the two Davids. The two Davids will end up head to head. Can't believe I'm admitting this... I got chills listening to Archuleta sing Neil Diamond's "Coming to America!" This happens to me when songs of a patriotic nature fill the air... my eyes well up with tears. Anyone else want to admit they're addicted to American Idol but wish they weren't part of the mainstream?

Baby Bully?

Just kidding. I could never call my baby a bully. But sometimes I wonder because a good amount of the pictures I take of him he is punching right at the camera... at least I know his self-defense mechanisms are intact though, right?

Chili Dawg

Today there was this delicious smell that led my nose straight to the kitchen. It ended up being chili dogs. I was a little disappointed because I normally can't stand hot dogs or anything along those lines but D made these for lunch today and I couldn't believe it... I actually WANTED a polish dog! It was really good but minus the chili for me. Actually what smelled so good were his gourmet caramelized onions. I figured this creation of his looked professional enough to document...

TAG

I was Love Tagged by Codi and Caitlin and here it is!

Love Tag

What is his name? Dipock Chandra Barua. I call him D.

How old is he? 27

How old are you? 26

How did you meet? He was the bassist in my brother's band when we were in high school and they would practice at our house. He was this mysterious man that always came over and there was always this pull between us.They jammed downstairs but D had this enormously long cord on his bass and he would walk upstairs while he was still playing to come see me.

How long did you date? One year. Then communicated through letter-writing for two years. Then one year again of dating. So four but technically two.

Who is taller? He is... he's about 6' 1''. I'm about 5'11''.

Who eats more sweets? I do by a mega long shot!

Who sings better? Dunno. When we sing in front of each other we're both still kind of bashful about it.

Who is smarter? I don't view the term "smart" the way this is implying! Intelligence takes infinite forms, right? So we are both smart in our own way I guess (:

Who does laundry? Both.

Who does dishes? Both.

What is his guilty pleasure? Probably one of them would be watching Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Him.

Who mows the lawn? Him. A labor of love since we both have bad allergies.

Who cooks dinner? When there is dinner to cook... usually me but he is better about experimenting when he does cook. I am HORRIBLE about making dinner! It is usually, "Should we have pasta or Top Ramen?"

Who Drives the Car? Just whoever wants to that day.

Who is more stubborn? D for sure.

Who kissed who first? I don't remember our first kiss (10 years ago) but I recall our first "almost kiss." He was wearing a wide-brimmed Indiana Jones-esque hat, on the porch, November, cold, I've never experienced such slow motion in my life... we got to where our noses touched and our breath clouded the cold air... then... we both looked down to the ground and said goodnight.

Who asked who out first? He asked me out.

What was your first date? First official date was October 30th, 1998. I love how us women remember dates! He picked me up to go to Nightmare on 13th but it was about to close and they wouldn't let any more people in. So he drove around to I-215 and as we traveled north there's that panoramic view of Salt Lake. And he stopped off to the side of the freeway and said, "So... are we a couple?" Aw, he was so nervous it was so darn cute!

Who proposed? He did. Fourth of July, in the park, in the dark! Fireworks booming and people EVERYWHERE but it was just us in that moment. He did wait too long to propose though and it made me mad since everything was set in stone basically... the date, the place, everything. Like Blake and Codi, the ring wasn't ready yet and I had no idea.

Who wears the pants? When it comes down to it this is prob the hardest question! I really think it is quite equal, but we both contribute different controlling attributes whether it is bossiness in its purest form (D) or subtle but strong manipulation (Lis)

What is your favorite thing about him? There are several, but some are: He is genuine in all he attempts to do. A very hard worker. Consistent. Hilarious and truly makes me laugh and has learned how to make me happy in so many ways. Makes the bed!! And has taught me to not always take things so seriously. A wise and wonderful person. And now a father!

I Wanna Hold Your Hand

My darling friend Catherine came over with her daughter Hallie yesterday and we gave the little ones some play time. Hallie is adorable. What's cool is Crosby and Hallie have the exact same birthday: 2/24/08! Catherine and I are high school pals and funny how we ended up in the same hospital, on the same days, on the same floor... we were a room away from one another! It was meant to be though because I love how I can call her up and we can talk about... everything. There's a lot to this thing they call taking care of a baby. She's helped me through with some uplifting chats. Thanks Catherine!

All dressed up and no place to roll. Sorry Croz, Mom gave you old-man-pant syndrome!

Bright-eyed babies

They even held hands; they can sense the connection! Hope we can have many more get-togethers!

Hope it's okay that I spotlight Lucy Bug again... my cousin Codi and I had a nice visit Monday and poor Luce was a little bored with sleepy weepy Crosby but when he woke up for a minute they got some bonding time. Can't wait til these kids get talking because I wonder what they are thinking. Lucy has perfected the word pickle though! She's a doll.

Thank you Codi and Lucy for a fun afternoon...
