No Camera

= bummer.

Went to Wheeler Farm with some buddies last week and it was perfect. The kids played and ran around and stared at the animals. I'm so sad we have officially lost our camera; I swear Croz put it SOMEWHERE. I knew I shouldn't let him play with it! Well we were going to get a new one anyway. I took Jess to Costco with me today and she helped me understand camera features a little better. I didn't know that more megapixels don't equal a better camera performance, it just helps in the enlargement department. Funny... anywho, my friend Janet had her camera at the farm and sent me these...

Croz found this scrappy broken shovel in the dirt and would not let go of it. He liked looking at the little newborn chicks and watching the guys bail hay and use tractors. The kids in this pic: Janet's twin boys Seth and Brad, Crosby, and Marsha's little cutie Katherine.

Anyone?

FYI I am going to start up with my yoga class at the Sugarhouse Bikram studio tomorrow. The Sandy one's too far away, although I loved it there. Sandy had a great intro deal but Sugarhouse also has one, and it is 10 days for $20. I will be at the 6 am tomorrow. If any of you are interested, once again I highly suggest you try it!

Here is the Sugarhouse web address: www.bikramyogaslc.com, where you can find the schedule. I heard they have a huge studio and 17 instructors, so it sounds awesome and I'm so excited to start tomorrow. Let me know if you're coming!

22/30

I finished up my Bikram Yoga 30-day challenge today. Challenge is an understatement... when they say it is a like a torture chamber in there, they aren't kidding! Some mornings were harder than others, but I gave myself a personal goal of going to as many classes as possible. In the end, I hit 22 out of 30...

Not too bad I guess since I had to drive out to Sandy for classes that started at 6 am and each morning I was NOT willing to set my alarm any earlier than 5 am! Anything within the 4 o'clock hour = yuck. They turn the heat up to 105 degrees in that room and out of all the poses this one below was one of the hardest because you have to lock your knees while pulling on your heels while straightening your legs while pressing your forehead against your legs while smelling your legs while sweat is pouring inside your eyes while... feeling like you're gonna die!!

The class is 90 minutes and you do 26 total poses, two times apiece. Here is what they look like:

Throughout the past month I have been so thankful for this class. I hit a real rough patch in my life and all I could think about during that funk was just getting myself to class. It's been a bit of a spiritual time for me, and I know I'll be forever thankful for it. Hopefully I can continue, we'll see. If any of you reading are considering this yoga, I truly recommend it. SO MANY BENEFITS! Just be ready to be disciplined and you won't be let down. I love how it is designed to work for EVERYONE. The heat sounds scary but its purpose is to prevent injury, promote more flexibility, and to help sweat those toxins right out of your body. Just think: arms like this may not be too far out of reach! (At least I wish)

For those interested in a few more details...

How does it work?

Supplies fresh Oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body that may have been stagnant
Flushes the lymphatic system
Organs of the immune system are boosted

Stretches, tones and balances muscles all over the body to support the joints and spine
Helps to eliminate toxins
Improves stamina through deep breathing and strength building
Improves circulation throughout the body
Still thought waves in the mind
Brings connection between mind and body

Thanks to everyone who took over with Croz while I tried to make it to class every day! Love you all.

Here's Dad and C hanging out

Target dollar bins = fun discoveries

Banana man; he loves 'em and now he is starting to just eat them whole instead of me cutting them into pieces. SO GROWN UP!

Sweet Gene

Yesterday in the morning my great uncle Gene passed away. We will miss him so much! I know he lived an amazing life, and a long one at that. He will be missed but I know that in his last moments he was happy. He has lived with my uncle Jon's family of six for the past ten years. They have taken primo care of him and have given him what he never had: a family. They have bonds that are eternal, and I feel a little sad that I didn't get to develop that kind of relationship with Gene, but it's all part of the journey. Last time I saw Gene was the first weekend in April and we had a gathering at Beth's for lunch in between conference talks. I remember he pretended to grab Crosby's nose and pull it off, with that big grin on his face. The cutest man, and I remember his jokes and when you'd ask how he's doing he'd say, "Fine as frog hair."

We will surely miss you, Gene!

Springtime

means bare feet, finally... last summer Crosby acted like he enjoyed the grass in his toes, but yesterday in Beth's backyard he was lifting up his feet away from it. Crosby loves his Nan so, so, so...

Sunday morning our home was filled with music.

That's the way I like it!

Croz has lots of fun at Granny B's. Every time we go D and I are always there together and we sit on the couch and spend time together while we watch Granny B chase Crosby all over the place, or vice versa. She is always chasing him around with some kind of food and Crosby loves her crazy ways!

Easter morning C found chocolate in his basket

And was fascinated with this spin-egg

Happy Easter!

We love you so, so, so...
