Jigga's Day

How Lennox looks here is how we feel...

He turns 6 months today! The time has sped by but we have savored every second with this Jiggaloo. To document his nickname I should say that it started as Boogaloo, which fit him to a T. Then it turned into Jiggaloo for some reason, but now he is affectionately known around our home as Jigga. I know it seems like his parents should be Jay-Z and Beyonce with a name like that, but he is SUCH a Jigga! Lennox there is much to gloat about when it comes to you; you are a complete delight. You have filled our home with an incredibly large amount of joy and it keeps getting better. Here are some tidbits about you at six months...

You are a wonderful sleeper! Whereas Croz would wake up 2 and 3 times a night and didn't sleep through the night 'til 15 months, you snooze all night. You need a little nightcap around 10:30 or 11 and then wake up at 5 or 6, but for the most part you are such a snoozer and it is lovely for me and lovely for you. As tired as I am at times to be up late feeding you, I wouldn't trade those silent nighttime moments we have together for ANYTHING... it is quiet time for the two of us, which is rare in the day.

You really love baths and have loved them since you were born. I was expecting you to scream and hate bathtime, but from the very beginning you've been nothing but low-key. No one believes me when I say you are the calmest of babies because whenever we go to someone else's house you have a meltdown! As soon as we arrive back home though, you are back to your smiley chill self. You are a homebody like Dad.

You gladly hang out in the tub and you really enjoy waterfalls coming out of the cup over and over again. You are completely fascinated with water!

I feel unusually nostalgic and sad that your pant length now spans the full depth of your drawers. Pretty soon we'll have to start spreading your pants the other way! You have grown up so very fast!

You are a real wiggly guy these days, reaching and kicking and observing and looking every which way. Many of our pictures of you are blurred limbs because you are always moving.

It is difficult to not compare you to your brother. We try not to, but it is fascinating to notice the differences. Crosby was in love with this piano. You on the other hand push it away.

A trait that stands out very strongly in you is your keen observation skills. In other words you are a baby spy. You are SUCH a spy! Dad and I noticed this months ago. We'll have you on the couch playing and we'll be at the kitchen table talking and all of a sudden it's quiet and we look at you and your neck is craned up at us, spying spying spying. Happens all the time, and it is about the cutest baby trait ever! Not to belabor the point but you aren't just looking or watching... it is blatant spying. What are you going to be someday, baby detective?!

You sure love this guinea pig. It is your going-to-bed buddy. You nuzzle it as you're falling asleep so it's funny to peek in at you and see this large creature covering your face! What a Jigga.

You are one touchy-feely guy. For real. You have to touch EVERYTHING. The blanket you are lying on, the burp rag on my shoulder, my hair, Crosby's arm. As soon as a new fabric or surface is in sight, you can't help yourself. You have to inspect it. You love tags, like tags on new clothes, tags coming off of a stuffed animal etc. A few times when we've been at Beth's you've needed a nap and when I put you on her bed you looked down at a velvety patch on her quilt, felt it and just smiled. It's cute.

I shouldn't embarrass you, so I won't give a full bum shot, but really I can't keep myself from kissing your puckered baby bum.

Just another object that you couldn't WAIT to touch.

But what fat baby hands you have to explore with!

Love those hands.

You still aren't particularly fond of real food yet. We try 2-3 times a day to get you accustomed to it, but there are many moments where it's not your thing quite yet.

Still sucking on those same fingers! When you're on your way to sleep and also sometimes when you're hungry.

Lennox, you have many people who adore you... just to name a few...

Nan!

Munga

Me

Dad

Croz

In fact, Crosby has a lot of fun playing with you. You'll be lying on the floor with one toy and a minute goes by and all of a sudden you have ten toys! Croz loves to help burp you too. Oftentimes in the morning when I walk into the room where Crosby is he says with a huge smile, "Hi, Jigga!" He loves you and you love him.

Lennox you are our Jigga man! You make our hearts sing with your darling smile, cute koala eyes, and very tranquil spirit. We love you more than words can say!

Love,

Mom & Dad

Oh what a sweet post!! I love your boys so much.

I can't believe Lennox is 6 months old! The time is flying and he'll be chasing around before you know it. I love that he's a baby spy - so smart!

Can't wait for warmer weather and lots of play time with these cute boys!
