Loving the Summer

Traditional "Girls' Sleepover" - Nerd Edition

D and I were folding laundry and heard a strange sound coming from our bedroom

Look how innocent.

We took our time with the cleanup, Crosby enjoyed some breakfast while working on his Cheerio art skills

Steph, Amy, and me... Steph was housesitting at this place with a HUGEscreen TV = movie night! I have to admit, my hair has never looked this fantastic

Every July... tradition

Every year at the Scottish festival it's something different. One year I focused on making it there for the morning bagpipe parade, one year I focused on buying as many Christmas presents in advance as possible... this year was all about kilt fashion

And checking out the games for more than 2 minutes

These are some fashionistas you don't wanna mess with

Cute kilt fashion duet

Scottish lassies

My (grandmother's) clan... "Never Behind"

July 11th was my friend Natalie's wedding at Red Butte. It was a unique and beautiful ceremony, and such perfect weather. (Her little brother died in 2000 in a motorcycle accident, and that is who the picture is of).

First kiss as husband and wife!

Nat and I go all the way back to '96, yo! SOooooo long ago! I was so happy to be at her wedding... it was a bittersweet day. On June 27th Natalie's mom was in a horrid car accident and is still in the ICU in critical condition. Her mom is the cutest lady, and she and Natalie are so close... what courage to carry on with her wedding day even though her mom couldn't be there.

I loved the contrast of yellow and cobalt blue

And check out this cake!

And check out their honeymoon ride...

Love you Nat!

Her dress was incredible. What a dress for dancing!

I started out with D as my date but then he had to head back to work after a couple of hours.

So I just traded dates. My second date of the night was not at all interested in the festivities, only gazing at the water fountain.

Suman and Lindsay are in town and we were so excited to give Suman his tablas from Bangladesh and Lindsay her sari. The boys hung out in the living room while the girls got dressed up

... for the photo shoot! We even found a way to make a little sari for Eden!

Crosby and Uncle Suman... anyone for summer snuggles at sunset?

Granny B and Croz

All of us in our saris
