Baby Beluga

is Crosby's latest FAVORITE book. Today so far he has asked, or in his language, "MMmmmmm?ed" me to read it four times. I grew up on Raffi songs and with Baby Beluga being one of them, it holds a sweet childhood spot in my heart so I knew I'd want Croz to have some Raffi in his life. This is his favorite page:

He sees those bears and growls really low, it is hilarious. Last night I babysat Cam's kids and Brig called that killer whale with a horn a tunafish. Grant said all condescendingly, "A unicorn fish?" Anyway, I sing the book to Crosby because it is a song made into a book and he absolutely adores it. It is also one of his lullabies if he needs to be calmed down.

When D and I found out we were pregnant with Crosby and told Jon and Susan (my uncle and aunt), I remember Susan got a big smile on her face and started singing, "Baby Barua, Baby Barua," as a little twist on the Baby Beluga song. So I've always felt it has even more special meaning for us (;
