Con·tact (kon'takt')

-Latin contactus, from past participle of contingere, to touch.

1. a. A coming together or touching, as of objects or surfaces: The doctor made contact with my mom's body today during her surgery in order to get her lymphatic system working properly again.



1. Of, sustaining, or making contact: Crosby needs constant contact with his mom in order to receive comfort during his painful ear infection.



2. c. Association; relationship: Lucy and Crosby came into contact and played in the sunshine on Saturday.



1. b. The state or condition of touching or of immediate proximity: Yesterday when preparing for a walk, I tried to put mittens on C so that his hands would stay warm. He would not allow this. He had to have direct skin-to-skin contact while holding Gus.



2. b. Visual observation: Grandpa and Crosby made contact with the airplanes in the sky.
