The family built their house on an empty lot in our neighborhood and finally are moving in this weekend so that means D has to be done with the tile in the next couple of days and boy will I be thrilled when I can have my husband back!
Here's some of his work... this is the kids' bathroom where he did the full walls surrounding the tub. I zeroed in on the one wall that has shelves built into it... this was a beast for him but after some hard hard work it turned out so beautiful!
This is a snippit of the master bath shower. These main tiles he worked with were enormous. This is the "hers" side which I love because the bottom little triangle shelf is a "leg-shaving" shelf. Then D is still finishing up around the bathtub, which is completely surrounded by this same small glass tile...
Here is the downstairs bathroom/shower. It is still streaked with grout so it looks a little weird. The colors are very neutral and clean-looking throughout the house, and it is such a striking home! It has been fun to visit him and see the progress. Yeah, I've been fantasizing that it's our home and boy has it been nice but now I have to face that someone else is moving in. Not us. Hmpf.
It is crazy to think that my husband did all of this, especially once I see everything finished and clean. Not only did he do the main showers/tubs in these bathrooms but also the floors! That just seems like an afterthought but the floors - oh, and floors of closets - are at least half the work!
Crosby too has enjoyed taking many a walk over to see Dad at work. We were so lucky to be able to just walk over when we wanted to since the job was so close. I had D take a pic of C and me by my favorite window at the house but you can't even see it! It is the cutest square window. Anyway, finally we get to be a family again! I am so done being a single mom! But grateful D has this talent and that he is such a good provider for his wife and baby.

That looks awesome! Fantastic work. You'll be SOOOOO happy to have him back, I know it. Little Crosby, look at him smiling again!! :0) I love that.
well, i guess he's not totally smiling... he's like "where are we mom?!" but at any rate, I still love it when he smiles. Excited to see you on Tuesday too!
He did an amazing job, it is awesome!! That will be nice to finally have your husband back, wahoo. I love the picture of you and C, it is so cute.
D has great talents, the tile work being just one of them. Looks beautiful! I've seen his work before and the pictures don't ever quite do it justice; you have to see it in person. So happy for all of you that this project is finished!!! xoxo Mom
I too am a recepient of D's awesome tile work! That house looks amazing, and everyday I look at our tile and think of what a great job he did at our house too, we still love it so much!
That looks so beautiful- will you send him over to our house, please?! I love Crosby's boots!
I worked on that tile job one night, all night, with D. I don't know how he has done it for dozens of nights and days since then. I can't even count as high as the number of hours he has spent doing this job.
However, its nice to finally stand back and look at the masterpiece he created. It was all custom work and I hope the owners like it as much as I think they will. Now, they just need to start paying the bills.
D, you are a hardworking animal and you do great work. I would recommend you to anyone who needs tile work done. You are a great son-in-law and an adopted son, too.

Go D! That's amazing work!
D should be able to retire after that job right? He better have made a FORTUNE on those masterpieces he did!!! That is truly amazing work!!!!
I miss you Alisa!!! I am so happy that you are doing good. We need to keep in touch better! Your boy is so cute- I would die just looking at him because he is so dang cute.
